GWAPE picture

In this picture I look happy, independent, responsible, and confident because that's how I want be when I'm a senior.  I'm smiling because it shows that I'm happy.  When I am a senior I will be independent because I will be older and know how to handle situations better.  I will be confident because I will have learned how to handle situations better and am more comfortable being myself around people.  I will be more responsible because I have grown up.  My long hair shows how I've grown over the years.

"You know I don't want to leave. I have to."(Griet 9) Like Griet, I have had to adjust really fast to a new environment. She had to go to a new house and work there everyday and even sleep there everyday. She didn't see her family much so she had to get used to that. Because I've been home schooled until now, going to high school has been a really big change for me. I have had to get used to getting up at 5:30 instead of sleeping in. The projects and due dates are hard to keep up with. It's been kind of hard but I'm getting used to it. By the time I'm a senior I should be more adjusted to this new lifestyle. Going through this change has made me a lot more independent because of all the things I've had to do for myself. It has also made me more responsible because I've had to make sure I've done all my homework for the next day.

I'm really glad I'm in JSA. It's made the work worth it. It will make me more confident in myself by the time I'm a senior. It will also make me happy because I'm doing something I love. "If I could not work with the colors, if I could not be near him, I did not know how I could continue to work in that house." (Griet 143) When Griet was helping Vermeer make paints she was doing something she enjoyed which made her happy. Instead of just doing tiresome work, she found a way to do something that made her happy while also working. That's what I feel JSA is doing for me. Instead of just going through the motions of high school, I'm actually doing something that will make me a better, more confident person.
